UPDATE Mozart
Concert for youth symphony orchestra or multi-generation orchestra
Did you know that Mozart spent a good third of his life in mail coaches? And did you know that, in the process, his head was tossed back and forth about three million times because of all the pot-holes?
These insights are the opening for a concert about the young Mozart by and for children and young people. This is followed by the actual UPDATE: Mozart was a contemporary composer! If he were alive today, what would he be composing? Rap? Film scores? And if he wanted to write a letter, which is something he enjoyed doing, would he do it by text message now? Would he even improvise with an entire orchestra? Fortunately, Mozart has come back to us for this concert and actually is improvising with the orchestra. He also rightly complains about still having to listen to his old contredanses.
A professor from the old school keeps the central theme of the concert under control, while discussing extensively with a youngster about the musical youth of today. As an “aside”, this leads to a small mobile phone concert, a musical expression of today’s youngsters.
