Pimpinone
for soprano, baritone and 11 musicians
If you like your theatre bubbly and funny, with music to stimulate, free of dust and age, then you are in the right place at the musical comedy "Pimpinone - or the unequal marraige". In three acts, the pretty Vespetta goes about hooking lecherous old Pimpinone. The chase takes place around the audience which sits between the two "fronts". But to make sure the audience doesn't start sweating too much, there is an Intermezzo between the acts, as was custom at the time. In one of them, the "Gall Stone Operation" by Marin Marais, the valued audience is warned against too much gluttony. In the "Fencing School" by Johann Schmelzer, the audience has the pleasure of watching cavaliers of yore butchering each other (without fatalities).
Enjoy an evening of varied entertainment which makes you forget that the music is already many years old.
